As the title says, i moved all my pc components to a new case and now i cant detect my WD 1Tb hdd in windows explorer, can see it in device manager but when i try to open properties for it, it freezes. Disk manager is totally empty.

Second problem is the windows 10 boot from my ssd takes over half an hour.

Everything worked fine before the move, everything is connected to the same ports on the motherboard. Cant figure out whats wrong. Any help?

I'd recommend you to start troubleshooting by reseating all the connections inside your new case. Make sure that all the cables are connected properly and firmly. Another thing you could try is resetting BIOS by reseating the CMOS battery or resetting the jumper on the MOBO. This, however, will get your BIOS settings back to factory defaults, so you'd need to reconfigure them afterwards. Here's a guide you might find useful as well: http://www.wikihow.com/Reset-Your-BIOS

I'd also suggest you to go to your motherboard manufacturer's website and make sure that all your SATA controller/chipset drivers are up-to-date. If none of these solutions work, you might also want to consider...

Keep me posted. Hope this was helpful.

Thanks for the answer.

As it turns out my HDD has been damaged around the SATA Port, must be causing a bad connection. when i unplugged it and and started with just the SSD the PC booted just fine.

Noticed it while checking the cables so thanks for that, new disk ordered now. Bit of a bummer but it is 6 years old so i guess its alright.

Thanks for your time.
