Best triple monitor setup?

I'm purchasing my EVGA GTX 980 Ti SC this week and my next project after the completion of my build will be to focus on my monitors. I want to work towards a 3 monitor setup but having troubles of finding a monitor that suits my taste :na:

I'd like to purchase an ultrawide monitor as my primary display but I think I would prefer this at 144Hz in an ultra wide 1080p monitor. The other two monitors I'd like would preferably be 1920x1080p standard 60Hz monitor.

The thing I desire most would be thinner bezels so it's ran a lot seamlessly.

I made a quick picture on paint as to what I'm trying to explain :wahoo:

Alternatively, I could change the primary display to a large 1080p 144Hz but not ultrawide.

What options are available for this kind of setup?

Your driver app has tuning knobs to adjust colors and brightness to match more closely, but it will never be identical.

First problem with triple monitor gaming is that there are not that many games that support it.
Even then, I would expect identical resolutions to be supported before diverse resolutions.

Next problem is the sheer number of pixels that need to be managed, that is a task, even for a GTX980ti, sli is more likely needed for fast action fps.

I would not worry too much about different side monitors, I find you get used to it quickly.
One key is to align the top edge of all three so dragging windows across is more seamless.

Let me assume you will be gaming on only one monitor.
If gaming on three, you want them all to be identical.

Then, are your games fast action shooters or strategy, mmo and sims?
For fast action, you need faster tn panels at the expense of image quality and viewing angles(160/160).

Three monitors, even normal 24" units will need a wide viewing angle(178/178) to keep the side monitors from looking washed out.

What is your budget?
How much desk space do you have?

For fast action gaming, I suggest 3 fast 24" monitors with tn panels.
Only with this option would I concentrate much on small bezels.
You can then try the few 3 monitor games.
Your new card will have 3 dp 1.2 outputs, so look at monitors that can accept that.

An alternative might be a 27" 1440P main gaming monitor which will likely be ips.
The side monitors can be smaller as in your example. ips is better there so you can see them.

I play mostly strategy games.
I can suggest a 4k Philips 4k monitor.
The space is large enough for two full web pages.
I also use a 30" ips 1600p monitor as a side.
It works for me. I do not have room for a second side monitor.

In all cases, consider using a vesa wall mount.
You need good adjustability.

Is it possible to have a primary display 144Hz monitor in the centre and two standard monitors on either sides? Where can I find something like this?

Thanks

Very possible, and likely a good thing so long as the primary monitor is the only one you are gaming on.
Side monitors which are relatively static do not add any load to slow down gaming.

What would be the problem with gaming across the 3 monitors or would this be an issue? or would I have some problems running into this?

Also, do you know of any monitor that has 144Hz 1080p and a standard 60Hz monitor that are identical so they're all matching in my setup? I currently have an Asus and Samsung monitor and the difference in size and complete different model really does look terrible.

Thanks for fast response.
