Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller "Unidentified Network" No Internet Access. No Packets Received, Few Sent.

Here is my issue, I have installed the latest drive for Realtek Network PCIe GBE Family Controller. My ethernet used to work. However, I upgraded to Win10 and it worked for a little while, but then stopped. Therefore, I downgraded to Win7 thinking it would work again and it doesn't. I have Uninstalled, Reinstalled both Manual and letting my computer do it. I have a Wireless Netgear WLAN 802.11n that works just fine, which is how I am asking this question. I am unsure of what to do. IPv4 are all Obtain automatic, IPv6 disabled (doesn't work enabled either), I have IP renew/release, I have netsh winsock reset, ip reset, reset log. I am just at a loss of other solutions. I am also giving off very few packets and receiving little to none as well. This Ethernet cord DOES work and I am connecting it to a GXT 5G Gigabit Wifi Extender. Both Ethernet ports on it have been tested with multiple cords and DO work. My main router is the Linksys E2000.

Please help.

Hi hrick11, what you are talking about is a bit confusing, but I think you are saying that you have a problem with you Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller, is that correct?
From the copy paste you made I see that you have a very odd IPv4 config (it's actually not a a private IP range as per rfc1918 specification.
Did you try to use your WiFi config instead? Or letting Windows configure it?

From what I see, and if you want to force it yourself, you could use :
Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address. . : 192.168.1.155
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 66.38.0.240
66.38.1.240

Hi. I tried your solution and it still says Unidentified Network, No Internet Access. I have upgrading back to Win10 to see if that would fix the problem since the drivers would be installed, but still nothing. It says I have the latest Win10 driver though. And yes, the problem is the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller issue.

Am hoping to also find a solution to this very SAME problem. Have been through several hours of doing pretty much everything everyone else has tried. My problem is : I have connection via wifi but NO ethernet connection. This problem just started to happen out of the blue! I suspect some sort of update from Microsoft?, HP?, Realtec, etc. is behind it? WHEN I CONNECT MY LAPTOP DIRECTLY TO THE ROUTER/MODEM IT WORKS FINE! When I try to connect to ethernet wall socket in another room, it DOES NOT WORK. I get the usual message "UNIDENTIFIED NETWORK Limited connection". Diagnostics tells me "ETHERNET DOES NOT HAVE A VALID IP CONFIGURATION". But it connects just fine no problem directly wired to the router/modem! ? Go figure! : ( Husband can connect to the same wall socket just fine. So my problem is not the wall sockets nor my ethernet port on laptop because it wouldn't be able to connect direct if the laptop's port was bad.....Please, I hope to find a workable solution after many hours of frustration. Have noticed many others have been having the same nightmares. Thanks for any help.

Hi Marrae, sorry from the first post I assumed that the connection was direct to the router and not through a wall outlet. It's very strange that the signal does not get through, as it should not be affected unless the cable in the wall is more that 100 meter long but then no connection would work at all.

As I asked previously, do you know if you can reach the router network interface while you get the networking problem (often 192.168.1.1 or .0.1)? You can check your manufacturer's website to check it.
I would be curious o know if that option works.

Solution FOUND! I gave up trying to fiddle with adapter settings, router info, IP addressing stuff....Not sure why I decided to try this but to any of you who are experiencing this nightmare.... I found a USB to Ethernet Adapter from BESTBUY it allowed me to add a wired (ethernet) network port using a free USB port on my laptop. So, all I can guess is the original ethernet port has fouled up and became unusable... Oh well. Good luck to all.
