Hi, I upgraded my computer from 2x2GB of ram to 2x4GB of ram but it failed to launch windows after the new ram was installed. I had purchased off brand (Komputerbay) for the replacement ram but stayed at 1333mhz like the old set. When the new set didn't work, I purchased 2x4GB of Corsair 1600mhz ram but it also failed to launch windows. I tried underclocking it to match the speed and timing of my old ram, I reset the bios to factory default, I'm running the second most recent BIOS update, and I'm at my wits end as to what the issue could be.

If anyone has an idea, I'd appreciate the help.

The motherboard is P7H55-M Pro. I thought it may have been a bandwidth issue but the manual shows that it supports 4GB modules. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P7H55M_PRO

Solution
With your mobo, you need older DDR3 that is made with low density memory ICs (chips), something like the NT series of value DRAM from GSkill or their original Ripjaws, not the newer X or Z lines of RJs, they run the high density ICs
