After installing new RAM computer stays on splash screen and can't enter BIOS

Basically, i've had my computer for about a year now and my RAM decided it was going to give in. I was thinking of getting some new RAM anyway so i ordered two 8 GB corsair vengeance 1866 mhz sticks, I had two 2 GB sticks before. after installation, before anyone asks I made sure they were fully secure and both clips were down, I plugged my computer back in. After a couple of seconds my computer's splash screen appeared..... and never left. I decided to leave it and thought maybe if I give it some time it would boot. After about 4 hours I returned and saw that it was still stuck on the same screen. I then pressed del to try and get into BIOS but it didn't work. I've tried my keyboard in every USB port on my PC still no progress. I've reset my CMOS more than once too so that's not the problem. If anyone can help I will be eternally grateful :) and thank you in advance.

I have no idea what my motherboard is and I've also lost the manual :(
I do know pretty much everything else that matters though so here are some specs:
GPU = ASUS GTX 760 Striker Edition
RAM= 2x 8 GB corsair vengeance 1866mhz (as mentioned earlier)
CPU = core i5 @ 3.20ghz

After I wrote this I took one of the sticks out and reset the CMOS again and that took me to a different screen after a couple of seconds. This screen told me a load of random bollocks such as how much RAM I had installed and what peripherals I have installed into my USB hubs... but at the bottom it said "CMOS settings wrong" anyone have any idea about that?

Solution

Well sometimes the motherboard will run it slower (if you have a 1866MHz RAM and your mobo supports 1333MHz then you can run the RAM at 1333MHz). Maybe that's the problem. Try to set it to 1333MHz or 1033MHz manually on BIOS.

Thanks for the reply, I've already tried this numerous times unfortunately to no avail. I think maybe I can't use any USB devices until my computer actually boots up, which is a problem because to do that I need to use my keyboard which is USB. Maybe if I buy one of those old keyboards I might be able to get somewhere. Also I fixed the CMOS problem buy resetting it and taking the battery out for a few minutes before putting it back in. Still won't boot though...

i really need to know your motherboard model to help... but i'll tell you something that might help... when i was building my pc i had an issue that it won't boot up... the motherboard lights and the fans work then everything go dim again and turn off... at last, i found that i must install the ram beside each other not leaving any slots in between of them that's what i have found... even if they were Dual channel. the motherboard was a gigabyte Z97X-SLI.

Usually there's an option on BIOS something like "usb support" that let you use an USB keyboard on the BIOS. If not, as you said a PS/2 keyboard will do the trick.

Maybe the RAM sticks are defective/not supported?

I'll try that when I get back from college, thanks for the reply. I'll also try and find the motherboard model too.

I don't think the RAM is defective because when it gave me the CMOS error with the different screen it told me the amount of RAM I had installed and it said next to it that it was ok and I can't even access BIOS to try that xD. I think I have an old PS/2 keyboard lying around in my attic I'll have to fish it out later.

Did some digging and found out that my motherboard is a foxconn P43AP.

I probably chose the wrong model I just knew it was by foxconn and looked up their motherboards to find the one which looked the most similar to mine, and if the speed is the problem will my RAM not work at all?

I'll do that when I get home, I managed to talk one of my tutor's at college into letting me take one of their old PS/2 keyboards xD.

The keyboard idea worked and I got past the boot but now my computer keeps saying there's a problem and restarting, it's a different problem each time.

@Tradesman1 Bro, I thought the same, but on te website it says this mobo will take up to 16Gb and it only has 2 slot so to make 16Gb you need 8Gb sticks. But only up to 1600MHz and the one he hot is 1866MHz.

Last night I decided that I was just gonna put my old RAM back in and keep this new RAM around because I'm thinking of building a new PC altogether. Does anyone know any good motherboards that could handle two 980 TI's, 16GB of memory and an I7 Processor?
