Hello guys, im new here and i kinda need your help
Today i did a little overclock on my FX 8320 from 3.5ghz to 4ghz, well nothing really weird happen already, but i want to restock it at 3.5ghz and i cant
I first did it at BIOS on my saberthoot 990fx, and it was running good, so i put it back to normal on BIOS using load defaults, i restarted and its says 3500mhz on BIOS, after that i used amd overdrive(that was a bad idea)and it said that was already at 4ghz i didnt touch it before i put it on default
I already did clear CMOS and the CPUID said that is running at 3.7 to 4ghz
So please help me reverting this or tell me if it is stable or unstable(or how i can know it and fix it)

Solution
The CPU-Z screenshot shows it running in turbo mode. Do you have cool and quiet enabled? C1E? Is Windows power set to balanced?

If you're not OC'ing, Turbo Mode can remain on so the CPU can clock up when fewer cores are in use. But turn C&Q back on. And C1E. They will allow the processor to ramp down its clocks and voltage when idle or little used.

"AMD Cool'n'Quiet is a CPU dynamic frequency scaling and power saving technology introduced by AMD with its Athlon 64 processor line. It works by reducing the processor's clock rate and voltage when the processor is idle. The aim of this technology is to reduce overall power consumption and lower heat generation, allowing for slower (thus quieter) cooling fan operation. The objectives of cooler and quieter result in the name Cool'n'Quiet."
