This is my first time building a pc.

I don't have the hard drives and don't have the os yet. So I'm building my pc and I go to turn it on without the graphics card or network card. I plug in the power for the motherboard, forgot to plug in the power for the cpu, and my pc started up and then stopped, and wouldn't start up again even with the cpu power connected. The motherboard still lights up. So I looked to the forums and I unplugged everything, except the power to the motherboard and tried, nothing. No post or beeps. Now I'm worried I shorted something or killed my board.
