No option for SLI in nvidia control panel Windows 10

Hello, I've been running 2 way SLI GTX 980s for a while and I just upgraded my motherboard to the evga z170 ftw and upgraded from windows 8.1 to 10, everything was working fine but when I opened the control panel to enable SLI there was no option to do it. I tried different bridges and swapped the places of the cards, I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them, they are being detected by the device manager too, nothing seems to be working please help.

So just to confirm it's not giving you the SLI option in the 3D settings? Also I do know you may need to allow SLI in your bios

What slots do you have the cards in?

There is no SLI option in the 3D settings and I have one card in the top slot and the other in the third slot down

SLI is only supported on the 1st and 2nd 16x slot . Slot 3 and 4 only run at 4x and SLI requires atleast 8x.

I tried to just use the first and second slot but the card in the second slot wasn't recognized

The device manager is only showing one card same with the nvidia control panel, in the BIOS it recognizes that both slots are being used and are x8

Ok I have no idea what happened but I now the SLI option is available so thanks for the help
