So I just got this pc,it s fairly old .
I was having problems with turning it on It was giving me a short beep followed with a long beep
Which means it s a problem related to the memory.
I quadrachecked that the ram was installed correctly ,did the same for HD but I don t know what to do next
Wanted to do a fsctory reset but there s non Cmos battery..

no worries, you're fine, i just woke up grabbed a sip of coffee and looked up your beeps a short and a long for HP is a memory problem.... you are correct in that. I would suggest trying different ram if you can, also if you want to buy a cmos battery they are super cheap.

Yes of course but with no cmos battery you will not be saving time and date so every time you power on your pc you will have that lovely black screen and please press F2 to run setup or whatever, lol and the date and time will never stay accurate...

have to tried your pc with new ram yet? how's that going?
