I have an odd b2 error when booting with xmp enabled. I only seem to get the error when restarting after a successful boot. If I boot from cold it starts up fine but my display intermittently cuts out. I only get this error with xmp enabled if I disable the error goes away but obviously I'd like my RAM to run at full speed. Here are the specs:

CPU: i7 6700k
MB: MSI Z170a Gaming M7
RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengence LPX 3000MHz (Currently in DIMM 2 and 4)
GPU: On board graphics (for now as I blew my budget on the above!!)

I've posted this in the memory forum as it only happens with xmp enabled but the manual states the following:

"Console Output/Input devices/Console initialization and
Load Option ROM (VGA, RAID, parallel ports, serial
ports……)".

This is my first build so any help that can be given would be much appreciated. Especially if I need to send components back as I only have around 20 days left before DOA expires.

Thanks,

Andy

Is your BIOS up to date? Have you tried inputting the timings and frequency for your memory manually in BIOS? You can try and run memtest86 for 10 passes and if any errors come up then the issue is with your ram. You can rule out the ram slots by performing the aforementioned with one stick per slot per test run(10 passes each slot).
