Gtx 980 sli 750w enough?

Should be fine, I have a 4770K system @stock with SLI 780Tis and max power draw is ~750W and 980s have much less TDP (165W vs 250W); even my i7 5930K @4.5Ghz on 1.3V only maxes around ~758W usually with SLI 980Tis.

do you recommend sli is the fps increase worth it i use 1440p monitor so i feel i need it

SLI is great and for my 780Tis it is necessary to max demanding games (outside of VRAM limitations) @1440p. 980s are roughly equal to 780Tis in terms of overall performance fyi. Keep in mind that not all games work with SLI, but most demanding games (where you need the horsepower) do.
