So i was able to gather a Dell Inspiron 660s for just 100.-.
here the specs:

i3 3220 3.3 GHZ
220W PSU
Gt 620
8Gb ram ( originally 4gb)

I wanted to have a nice LAN PC with a small formfactor and im desperate in need of a new GPU for it so im not sure if the Gt 740 needs to much power.
Please suggest me some cards or tell me if the 740 is a good fit.

Thx :)

Solution
A 730 gddr5 would be good, it's less power than a 620 but a good amount better performance. I would agree the 740 might be too much for that psu.
You're already running below the recommended power supply for the Gt 620 (300 W). The recommended PS for a 740 is 400 W. You'd be taking quite a chance.

Also, the 740 requires an auxiliary six-pin PCIe power connector. I'll bet dollars to donuts (a silly expression now that a donut costs a dollar) that your PS doesn't have one. You will need a new power supply. And now you get out of the range that I can help you with. The last time I opened a Dell system they had custom power supplies and motherboards, so you couldn't drop in a standard replacement. But that may have been a decade ago. Anyone else, please?

so i did so more researches and it has got gt 740´s without any extra connectors but as you mentioned it needed 400w so i came to a conclusion that a gt 730 would fit, wouldnt it?

I have a 660s and i found the most powerful gpu that can be put in there and still fit the the single slot. I found a PNY Geforce 750 1gb ddr5 low profile card for less than 100bucks and it works like a charm and doesnt require a power connection it runs right off the pci slot. Also I upgraded the cpu from the 55w g1620 to the i5 3570s 65w and everything runs stable with 2 ssds running as well on the stock 220w psu. I would recommend upgrading your cpu cooler if you upgrade the cpu im going with the cryorig c7 as its shorter than the stock cooler and same form size. Hope that helps sorry for the late reply

nothing i put in there is stressing the psu....the 730 is approved and teh 3570s is a low wattage version so no clue what ur talking about essentially i added 10w of additional power and a gpu that runs off the pci slot the 3570s is the same wattage as the 3330s and less than your 3220
