This is what I sent to the mfr, awaiting a reply......

Just received the above card from Newegg, fulfilled by Adorama, to replace a similar card by ioGear which they said wouldn't work properly with Windows 10. It had worked for a few months. after working fine with Windows 7, but then became intermittent

So, I ordered your card as it's spec's say it works with W 7 and above. Anyhow, I installed it and got no notification of new hardware found. However, it recognized and worked properly when I plugged in an old flash drive, but not the WD My Book external HD... It also connects a USB 3 card reader successfully.

I then went to your site and downloaded the driver. ( I did not temporarily remove the card, should I have?) Stll the same problem. But I've read elsewhere that W-10 doesn't require drivers

Please advise.

It is mounted to an ASUS P6T motherboard, with an i7 processor. Connected to power as well.

By the way, I just installed the other ioGear GIC320U USB 3 card in my old Windows XP computer and it works just fine.

1| Your above link doesn't work
2| Are you running on Windows 7 or 10?
3| Have you tried installing the device drivers under compatibility with legacy drivers? i.e using drivers meant for Windows XP on your Windows 7 system?
Right click installer>Properties>Compatibility Tab>Windows XP [from drop down menu]
4| one other point to note is, which slot have you populated the USB 3.0 card on your motherboard? It should ideally go into the PCI-E x1 slot wedged between the 2xBlue PCI-E x16 slots.
5| We'd benefit most if we knew your full systems specs.

Problem solved. Adorama refunded me for that card, bought a different one, installed the same way... and works fine..... Thanks for the help.
