Write Protection/Permission Denial on Hard Drive After Backup

So, I've ran into something pretty horrible lately. I recently built a new PC and had to back up my hard drive obviously, which was a system image back up using Aomei. Now whenever I've tried accessing any of my old files after using an explore image utility it gives me a permissions denial which stops me from getting to any of my stuff (saves, stories I've written, images, games, etc...) and when I try to fix that, it gives me a write protection warning telling me yet again that I can't access it.

Now, bad turns to worse: my hard drive gives me a warning that there's a problem with it for some reason and that I should back up.

Any help is much needed to get my PC back on it's knees.

Cheers :)

Hm, any idea on how I can also access my old files? I'm using Aomei to backup and re-install. But what i did with my old system was do a full backup image. But now I'm using a completely different build hence why I needed to backup. So is there any way to do so? Would I need to restore the system image? Or would I need to find a way to remove the write permissions and to pick out the files I need?

On my old system I was using a completely different motherboard with different drivers and chipset, and the OS was Windows 10 whereas now I'm using a temporary Windows 7.

Okay, so I ran into this problem where the files from the Aomei system Image backup were not showing up in Recuva. Is there a solution to this?
