ASUS A68HM K overclockable?

Solution
I don't run AMD chips personally, so I won't be of much assistance. It would be in the advanced section of the BIOS and maybe under something like a tweaker.

well i got this mobo, and i went into the bios to try to overclock it but i dont see it, and i also tried overclocking with AMD overdrive, but when i do it and restart my pc it just sets it back to the stock 3.70 GHZ i have the x4 860k btw, please help me idk what to do

In about simple terms, if you buy a motherboard from any vendor and it is quiet cheap say in the £40 or so range.

The features and options in the bios tend to be the limiting factor, to how much you can overclock your chosen cpu for the system.

With a board priced in the £100 range or more, you get a wealth of overclocking options in most cases in the bios.

From cpu voltage settings, to memory, and the chip set also of the motherboard.
Along with good overclocking settings for the Cpu, memory and the north and south bridge chips of the motherboards chip set used.

With better quality electronic components fitted to the physical motherboard to allow good and stable overclocking.
The Cpu, memory and other system settings/ voltage tweaks changes.

The rule applies to ATX boards and Micro ATX boards.

The more you pay, the better the options and features of the bios are.

It also depends on the actual chip set used on the motherboard it`s self as to how well, or little options you may get in your bios settings for overclocking things.

Asus boards I always recommend, good solid boards, and if buying a high priced one, reliable in my personal experience of them.
With a good chip set on the motherboard, and good overclocking features of the bios.

I have the same MOBO and I also cannot find the Manual mode for overclocking. Under the AI tweeker tab and then the AI Overclock tuner it should give the option for "manual", it does not.

I am using AMD Overdrive however and it seems to be working, to get it to save your settings click Preferences, Settings and check the box " Apply my last settings when system boots"

ok guys im thinking that you dont read or something, from users manual it says where to find the options u are looking for... however this mobo its not the best to perform hard overclock, but if u have that feeling u can just do the followin.

* I recommend to load optimized settigs first.. in case you changed something before.

0-prepare for some spanglish scenes
1-acces to your bios by pressing "del" key
2-if ur using basic view change it to advanced (u can do this by clicking the button on the lower right side that says advanced mode
3-go to the tab, labeled as twikin stuff then change the multiplicator defaults its x37 (cuz the APU that its the same that your NB = to 100mhz so these numbers multiply by =3700mhz) depends how far u want to go, take care of monitoring the temps, try to get a better cooling solution, stock vent its so tiny,
4-exit saving values and thats it.. easy

for example if u up multiplex to 41 you will get 4100, u can try what works for you, and if you want more but your system freezes or something u will need to add more vcore power so chance the settings with over ride cuz mobo dont let chance that to manual, only says normal, extreme, stuff like that or 100%,110%,130% those are the patters.
you can move the NB value as well but i dont recomend that cuz this mobo its not full of solid capacitators and theres no disipators on the vrms so your mobo will b running hotter, be careful, if you do move NB frec it will change the frec on your pci express slots so you are OC your entire system, getting more chances of dmg something..

im actually on 4200mhz (mobo settings - multiplex only, no NB changes) with stock vent lol; it reachs 65°C under stress, 38°C idle but its winter so i will change that later.. trying to get some water cooling

BTW.. like someone said before u need to alow save changes for the next restart, on over ride if u want to use it, but also u need to disable turbo boost clock that way you can change the parametters,

ohh i forgot something, some stuff can b changed just by click on the tab or using your mouse, but some others like APU frec, and multiplix you need to press minus key "-" or "+" plus key, enjoy
