My keyboard would sometimes not turn on after booting, my mouse works fine.

If I unplug and plug the keyboard works like normal again.

It's a Corsair K95 and its connected with an extension, any ideas what the problem is? Really annoying to plug it back it in.

Solution
Update drivers as applicable....

Also:

While the keyboard is unplugged clean the keyboard by turning it upside down and gently tapping the ends to loosen up a remove debris between the keys. Spread an old cloth out first, to catch the mess.....

Try a different connection port. See if the keyboard works.

Try a direct connection without the extension. See if the keyboard works.

If so, try the keyboard with a new extension. See if the keyboard works.

Try another keyboard that is known to work.
