I bought my razer deathstalker a year ago, and was often having problems with the CTRL Key. I opened up the key cap and used some canned air to clean it. Today, I opened it up after getting stickyness, and realized that there was something wrong with the thin membrane under the keykap. It is out of place, and is causing the ctrl key to be constantly held down. Is there any solution to fixing this?

Currently I have just been disabling the ctrl key in razer synapse, but I want to know if there is any actual fix.

Solution
there is a way to replace the membrane, but it's real hassle. For more info on that, here's a link: http://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Keyboard_Membrane_Repair/Replacement_Guide

Alternatively, I would get a new keyboard: The Redragon Karura. It's an excellent keyboard and almost identical to the deathstalker for much cheaper. You can find it on Amazon for $25.00 USD. It is very quiet and has the flat keys just like on the deathstalker, features a wrist rest and anti-ghosting, along with color changing LEDs.

I feel you. Mechanical keyboards can also come pretty shitty, so make sure you're going for quality>price. The CM Storm QuickFire XT is a great starter full-size mechanical keyboard, but if you'd like something cheaper and more compact, they have a tenkeyless variation (without numpad) called the CM Storm QuickFire Rapid. Just make sure you're getting Cherry MX switches and never buy cheap switch mech keyboards without testing them first. Last thing, there are three kinds of main switches, so you'd better experiment with that before you any keyboard. The CM Storm QuickFire series uses Cherry MX switches. Only downside is that they aren't backlit unless you buy the CM Storm QuickFire Rapid TK, which will cost you about 10 dollars more. Alternatively you can just add 'i' to the end of the QuickFire model you like and that will search you the backlit version.

You don't have to buy all of these, but I'd recommend try the switches out for yourself before you buy one, because your own opinion will change a lot after personally trying them out. You can buy a cheap sampler here.

Here is a nice cheap mechanical keyboard I found for 60.00: http://www.amazon.com/Aiernuo-Corlorful-Mechanical-Anti-Ghosting-Switches-Black/dp/B01710WRCK/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1452130574&sr=1-3&keywords=mechanical+key+switches
It features blue key switches, but if you don't like blues you should probably get a different one.

UPDATE: I chose the QuickFire Series because they have great Price/Performance ratio without being super cheap. There are better mechanical keyboards out there, but for a starter I recommend a budget of sub-$100
