So I got a 500 GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO for Christmas and I want to install it in my computer. I have a 1 TB HDD in at the moment and I want to transfer everything from this onto the SSD. I have uninstalled everything on the HDD that I do not want and it's at 353 GB. I want to migrate it and then wipe the HDD but still have it installed. How should I go about doing this?

Hey there, Werewolfman. Welcome to tom's hardware and a happy new year!!! :D

If you've slimmed down the partition's data to 353GB, you've already done one of the most important parts of preparing to move the OS from the HDD to a smaller SSD. Take a look at the tutorial in this article: http://lifehacker.com/5837543/how-to-migrate-to-a-solid-state-drive-without-reinstalling-windows. Basically it has everything described step-by-step.
Furthermore, you could check out this one as well: https://www.maketecheasier.com/12-things-you-must-do-when-running-a-solid-state-drive-in-windows-7/. I know it says Windows 7, but the options are viable for the newer versions as well.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.
