Hi again, sorry for another thread so soon but just before i go and buy a new mouse I was wondering if anybody had a fix.

My Razer Naga 2012 Mouse has started intermittently freezing. This occurs every 3-5 mins for a few seconds at a time, also sometimes both my mouse and keyboard rapidly turn on and off until i reboot when using my rear USB ports. Other mice do not have this issue on my computer and my mouse doesn't have this issue on other computers and this problem is only recent and didnt occur when i first updated my OS.

OS: Windows 10 64-Bit
CPU: Intel I5 3570
GPU: Nvidia GTX 660Ti
RAM: 8Gb DDR3
Mobo: Asrock B75 Pro3-M
HDD: 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda

Things i have tried:
updating mouse drivers
updating windows
disable anti-virus
uninstall Razer Synapse
disable power saving mode in task manager
contacting microsoft (who blame razer)
contacting razer (who blame microsoft)

Things i havn't tried:
wiping my harddrive since i have no way of backing up 1Tb of stuff

any help would be greatly appreciated.

the issue happens on both 2.0 and 3.0 usb ports and unfortunately i don't have a powered hub. is it common for ALL the usb ports to die at the same time? including the ones built into the case?

No such thing as "ones built into the case". The case only has connectors, the actual "ports" are on the motherboard, inside the USB controller chips. If all of the ports are powered by the same chip, then yes, they can all fail at the same time (though rare)

well i guess its possible, and could be fixed by a motherboard replacement but the thing that still bugs me is that it is only one specific device on one specific computer. if it was a failure, wouldn't it affect all devices?

Yes and no. Not all devices have the same power requirements and driver stability, so some might crash while others work "fine". Try using other high power devices like USB powered disk drives and phone charging. If either fails (or has poor results), you know it's that issue. For now, try to find a powered hub you can borrow to see if it's just a software thing or if your USB is the issue.

i tried charging my iPhone 4S from USB and that worked fine. i also checked the device manager-universal serial bus controllers-USB root hub's power tab (if that made any sense) and it says power required 0mA but im not sure if that means anything. I'll see if i can get my hands on a powered hub tomorrow.

They can be many things such as:
1-. sensor damaged
2-. Less than 80fps in games
3-. You upgrade to Windows 10 without making clean installation

(many people have problems of all kinds, software, games, drivers ... in Windows 10, everything has been solved after clean installation)

1. sensor damage would not cause the buttons not to work
2. how exactly is that related in any way?
3. Windows 10 supports upgrading without clean install, also as i said in my post i dont have the capability to backup data and for the cost of a big enough portable hard drive i might as well buy a new mouse instead.

Thanks anyway though

1. True. apology. then discarding damaged sensor.
2. Same as 1 (but if you want. You can taste the difference in 60fps limit and then disable vsync and lower resolution if needed to go over 80fps and see the difference)
3. Yes, it supports it, but there are thousands of people with problems after upgrading to Windows 10 and all have been solved after clean install. (I and my friends including problems with games that do not start, applications do not work, malfunctioning peripherals ...)
For this reason I insist on clean installation.
Maybe it's a better investment to buy SSD hard drive and make clean installation in the new SSD (250GB for example), samsung evo 850 is incredible and well priced

This has nothing to do with the actual issue. Although a clean install might help, it would be because of driver reinstalling, which can be done WITHOUT reinstalling the system.
