How to Test if Game is Running off GPU or CPU (Integrated Graphics)

So, I just moved my brother's computer into a new case and he's having significantly decreased game performance. I'm wondering at the moment if the GPU (Sapphire 6590) needs to be reseated but before I do that, I was wanting to test what the game is running off of, the onboard integrated chip on the i5-2400 or the GPU. So yeah, how can I test this?

Solution
Pretty much what unksol said, it uses whatever your VGA/DVI/HDMI cable is plugged into. If it's from your GPU, integrated graphics will generally be disabled.

The only reason I bring it up is because the CPU seems to be running much more and taking a stronger load than the GPU, or is that normal? And if that's not the case, what could be the issue? How come the GPU isn't working as effective as it was last night when the only change is the different (and far better) case.

Could share some numbers or at least describe how it is running worse? The cpu load is affected by everything that is running currently in the system. If you have a antivirus program, if you play music or stream video even worse if you record gaming. So it is not unusual for the cpu to work more.

Unfortunately not on hard numbers side, but from what he tells me basically the issue is that the framerate was rock solid at 60, not it's gets as high as 60's but drops into the teens in combat.

The only that i could think of is that in the new case there is a fan/airflow problem that forces the card to throttle. It would be a very extreme scenario. What is the new case? Is it positively the only thing changed? No new monitor, hardware of any kind or even a re installation of some softare (game, drivers etc.). In windows 10 for instance there are a lot of problems regarding the gpu drivers.

Only thing, we got the case because I discovered the one he had been using was some manufacturer case taht didn't have a side panel! Anyways, we got a Antec GX500 and temps seem good at this point. Perhaps if I reinstall the GPU software that'll do it, I'll also try reseating it when I go over their tommorow. Just so odd becuase all we did was switch cases. I will say this though; I noticed when the computer booted up over there, the computer BSOD for a moment, then restarted normal and everything was alright. Could that be affecting performance? Perhaps if when he turned it on and off, it was in the process of installing new GPU driver...
