So I'm building a gaming computer, and I have all the parts in my house apart from my anti static wrist band, which is could turn up very soon, or as long as towards the end of the month.
So do I really need the anti static wrist band?
Is their another way to build my computer without building up static? I heard touching the case discharges it or something or other, I have this case : https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/thermaltake-case-vl80001w2z which I believe only the front panel/front side of it is metal.
Please help as I'm becoming impatient as all my other parts have been here since last week and some even before that but the anti static wrist band is pulling my nerve (sadly).
Thanks

The anti-static wrist-band doesn't mean squat unless you doing it correctly. First, your house has to be grounded. Then, you need to make sure your power supply is plugged into the wall with a 3 prong plug. Turn the power supply to off and attach the anti-static wrist band to that.

Short from that, touching your case / other metal before you touch any part is a good idea. Lay parts on anti-static material (like the bag they came in) and never touch a PC component with two hand. Avoid touching the PCB directly if possible. Do those few things and you should be able to get away with not using an anti-static wrist band.
