Origin Account hacked!

Hi,

So my Origin account got hacked. Here's the breakdown:

I received an email yesterday from EA asking me to verify my email. Didn't do that (running around here and there at the moment).

Received another email from EA saying that my email account had been changed from my existing email to 'xyz' email account - which of course, wasn't mine. Immediately clicked on revert to old email id and managed to reset my origin password.

Logged onto Origin a short while ago and see that my User ID, date of birth, security question, area have all been changed.

I immediately deleted my credit card details (fortunately, no purchases). The problem is, I never set up a security question, and now its asking me for one, to which I, obviously, don't have an answer.

I tries getting through to EA customer support, website and facebook, but no help. The website offers only web chat, which when clicked, gives the 404 error (link does not exist).

In the 'email address changed' email, the new email was provided. I almost e-bombed the fudge, but stopped at the very last stage!

I just want my account back under my control and EA seems to be little to no help. I can't get them to call me (I'm in India and they don't have that facility for here). Chat is a no-go. I can't find any email address to contact them on. The emails from EA seem to be auto-generated, so no point responding there.

Turning to the good people at Tom's for help.

Thanks in Advance!

Something like this is really your only option. While this forum is great for advice/troubleshooting, if you're talking about recovering a stolen account the only solution is to get in touch with the parent organization via email, chat, or phone and prove it's your account from there so it can be reassigned to you.

I understand it's been difficult to contact them, but we don't have a magic solution for this outside of what you've already tried. There's almost certainly an email address you could use to contact them.

Hey Wolf, any reason for the inability to help? Thought it was piracy which was not condoned at Tom's.

I also checked the chat as well, and it says the page 'does not exist'. Many users seem to be having this problem over the past few days.

Anything that assists in breaching security protocols is also a no-go here at Tom's.

You say your account has been hacked and you want to get it back. Since you're unable to go through normal channels (EA/Origin), you're looking for other means. This is considered bypassing EA's security protocols and we cannot assist other than to say, go through EA. I understand you're having issues contacting them, but all we can say is keep trying.

I'm not, even for a moment, asking for help in 'bypassing' EA's security (or lack tgereof!) protocol! I'm sharing a problem and asking for 'legitimate' means of resolving this issue, including 'ways' of contacting EA because the options to contact EA as available to me are as good as nothing!

If you were to google the problem, you'd find that a lot of people are having dimilar issues as well.

Anyways, be helpful if you had any leads on how to get through to EA.....email, etc. Chat and phonecall, as I already stated, aren't wirking for me.

Cheers!

This happened to me a few months ago but not to this extent. Basically, I got an email saying I was trying to change my email and I didn't recognize it. I immediately called origin support and they were able to take care of it.
