Hello, im building my a friend a rig and need help choosing parts. Ive tried many times and it comes up just a little more than expected (~£1020).
So i would just like to see if anyone here can help out.
It NEEDS to include a 1440p monitor (A basic one would be fine) and a 390x (around £300 from OcUK).
Apart from that im open to suggestions. A skylake CPU would be nice too if possible.

Also just want to point out that Scan is excluded from the UK PCPartPicker (idk why) so thats another option if someone has the time to look. Thanks again.

I don't want this to devolve into an AMD Vs. NVIDIA thread - it's been argued to death. But at that price point you have to have a decent GPU for 1440P - it can't be done when you consider that any decent monitor will run you £400. So if the monitor has to be included in the budget, that budget is not sufficient enough to provide a decent setup.
Ebuyer is selling a 4k monitor for less than the price of a 1440P monitor at the moment, that's definitely worth a look:

This build should give great gaming performance at 1440P and reasonable performance at 4k:

Alternatively if you can do with 240GB and a cheaper case you could get an R9 Fury which would give better performance at 4k. You'd still be looking at Mid-High settings on most games rather than ultra though, 4k is pretty damn demanding.

Need a monitor included. Also a 390x (imo) is much better value and especially at 1440p

There's a 4k monitor above for £200, why not just go for that?

A 390x will give you reasonable performance at 4k. you won't be playing the newest games at ultra settings but it will do the job for a bit. Or you could just run the monitor at 1440P. May not look as good as it would on a 1440P monitor but its a lot cheaper.

Because it's a rather low end, poor quality AOC monitor which I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. Any decent 1440P monitor and you're going to pay.

What makes you say it is poor quality? I can't find any reviews on it so I'm just going on the assumption that the specs look fine and it's a major brand so generally is is bound to be of reasonable quality.

Yes it is a low price but that doesn't always mean low quality.

AOC isn't a brand that's associated with high quality given the past reviews that I've seen. I've seen a lot of reviews of dead pixels and no customer support with AOC.

Fair enough but it is an Acer..
