Concerned about Gigabyte GTX 980 G1 temperatures

Hey guys,

I have built a new gaming PC 2 months ago, and I have some temperature concerns at the moment.
My pc:
Intel core i5 4590
asus z97-e
Gigabyte gtx 980 g1
xfx ts series 650W 80+ gold
HyperX Savage 8GB 1866MHz
Cooler Master Hyper 212

So when I first started playing Witcher 3 with everything on ultra, my GPU temperature was maximum 72 degrees, and the CPU with a Cooler Master Hyper 212, 52 degrees at first. Since then the cpu's temperature has increased a bit, sometimes it goes up to 57-58 now, though the cpu cooler doesn't run really fast yet. The GPU, under 99% usage, and with 54% fan speed now reached 76 degrees, though this only happened in Witcher 3 so far but this only happened once. Usually it doesn't go higher than 74 now. I cleaned the PC, to see if dust was the cause of the problem, and while it did help the cpu a bit, the gpu is the same pretty much. I have 2 case fans at the moment (one front and one back), but will get 2 more soon. Ambient temperature is about 25 degrees. Is this normal? I mean this is a fairly new PC, so should this -even just a slight- temperature increase happen already? I'm worried that my gpu is overheating, but since my gpu fans are set to auto, and doesn't go higher than 54% so far, I guess this temperature is still ok? I'm going to have to get an air-con because when summer hits, its going to be really hot in there.
What are your thoughts? Any advice is appreciated.

Hey,

With the GPU running at 99% 76 degrees is in no way dangerous to the card, it is on the hotter side for the triple fan G1 Card. But I would have no issues with running that long term.

The reason for the high temperatures from what I can see is that you only have 2 case fans. I would get a couple more if possible and the temperatures of both your GPU and CPU should fall.

Thanks for your reply! Ah I see, thanks. Well 76 degrees only happened in Witcher 3 so far, which is really hard on the GPU, in other games the highest I have seen is 72. I was just wondering why the load temperatures increased, even if only a bit. Will the heat rise more over time?
I will get 2 more case fans soon. I have one on the front and one in the back, so I think I'll put one on the bottom, which will blow air directly at the GPU, and add another exhaust fan to the top of the chassy.
