Hey guys,

I was reading but couldn't find a straight answer if any one could help i would greatly appreciate it

I recently built my first bc ( 3 days ago ) and now i'm understanding that I might need to get one more GPU in a month or 2.

my specs

motherboard ASUS M5A99X
CPU AMD FX 8320 8 core at 3.5 (BIOS auto clock to 3.8) (asus optimal)
cpu cooler evo 212
GPU EVGA GTX 960 SSC ACX 2.0 4GB
case nzxt s340 razor
PSU Thermaltake SMART 550W 80 + bronze
1 HDD @7200 1 TB
1 250 SSD

the plan is to get another gtx 960 in the future would my PSU support it or should I try to replace it while I still can ( if it'll be fine i'd rather not change it but i'd rather know now

as I said first build and went with what people recommended

Thank you in advance !

This reference recommends a 600W minimum for dual GTX 960s: http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm
I tend to agree. In fact with the FX-8350 and the possibility of OC'ing the CPU and GPU, I'd go with a bit more for the extra headroom. There are several high quality 650W PSUs out there. I like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007657%2050001669%20600014085&IsNodeId=1

If you foresee yourself ever going with dual cards of a higher wattage than the GTX 960, you may want to move to a 750W PSU.
