Windows 10 death of a graphics card?

In the light of things my Palit GTX 680 2gb Jetstream is old but it has never let me down till windows 10.

I purchased some relatively old games, Sniper elite and Nazi zombie army. Now whilst running windows 7 (never liked windows 8) I had no problems whatsoever running any game at the highest setting but since windows 10 I have nothing but problems.

There will be people out there who will say go back to windows 7, but I really like windows 10 except for some minor teething problems I think it is really good.

Anyway running Windows 10 64 no matter what setting I use from the highest to the lowest my games freeze or exit with errors reported many related to the graphics card. I have used several drivers including the latest from Nvidia and the recommended one from Palit but all result in the same errors.

Now I am looking to purchase the 980 ti in the near future but wanted to know if anybody else has had graphics problems since windows 10?

I have been in touch with Rebellion games, the makers of the games in question who helped me so far and then gave up and never responded.

GTX680 is supported by Windows 10 and should work without issues, upgrading to a 980ti will use basically the same drivers with a few extra things enabled.

Any problems, more likely down to the games now playing nicely with Windows 10.

Have you tried installing.playing the games under Windows 7 compatibility mode ?

Hi thanks for replying. I uninstalled drivers before each different driver, I also went in to more complex fault finding with Rebellion but each time the same problems arose.

Thanks for your reply, yes I tried all the compatibility modes but constantly had the same problems.

Are you suggesting I would be wasting my time and money if I upgraded my graphics card?

I did not perform an upgrade from windows 10 instead opting for a clean install, do you think I could have an installation problem or a software conflict?

I have now performed a brand new Windows 10 install after deleting and formatting my hard drive. I discovered one piece of software that was causing all sorts of problems after the new install, Asrocks xfast usb but this was not installed when I was having problems with games before. I then performed another format and clean install and now everything is running fine, games are ok and I have performed heavy load tests without a hitch.

My question now is this, as I said before my Palit GeForce® GTX 680 JETSTREAM (2048MB GDDR5) is a fantastic card which has taken everything I have thrown at it. Is it worth changing this card to a gtx 980 TI?
