You must be in the same "budget" boat as the guy that was asking about a $1,000 TV because he was not made of money LOL. Budget graphics is $50, maybe $100, 2-300 is upper mid-range.

Your post left out a lot of info, like your computer specs. You don't know how many people ask to buy a high end desktop video card for a laptop. Need to list power supply brand and model, PC/motherboard/CPU/case size and so on.

If you know your system can run a gaming card, R9 380 or GTX 960 depending on your particular brand loyalty. 960 will use less power, R9 380 is faster.

Have a look at these links:

I'd agree with them and say look into getting an AMD card as they tend to be slightly cheaper with as good performance

It depends on what you do, or do not already have in the way of a PSU. If you already have a PSU with a 6pin PCIe connector you can look in the graphics card hierarchy chart. If you don't, then you will either have to include one in your budget, or get a GTX750Ti which is the fastest card that doesn't require one (a few of then do). Case size and type matters. there are a lot of refurbished BTX computers on the market and they can be tricky to upgrade.
