My PC is shutting down while playing games. Heavy-load game in special. It is hard to reproduce because it's kinda random. I susspect 2 factors : heat and low-psu wattage.

What can be the problem. How can I reproduce the problem to get a baseline. 3dmark with all maxed out, still no shutdown. It's random in hi-res games. ~45C CPU and ~75C GPU.

A 6770 shouldn't be using *that* much power (maxes out at 108), though it's still very possible it's a PSU issue because of the junk PSU status. Have you run any diagnostics on your hard drive? It doesn't appear to be a temperature issue.

When you say it shuts down, does everything freeze or does everything just completely go off? Do you ever get a blue screen?

Ah, with that detail, I'm more strongly suspecting the PSU. If I had your PC, my next step would be to either test another spare PSU (if you have one) or get a safer, more dependable one (which I would do in your case even if it turns out to be a PSU problem). The most difficult issue with junk-tier power supplies is that they can frequently take out other parts when they start to fail.

I've been having the same issue, a corrupt hard drive apparently can do it also. According to the guy who fixed my computer. I run with 6 screens while gaming, and have for the last 5 years (850watt psu).

It's possible, but simply turning off isn't really the typical behavior for a PC with a failing hard drive (though hardly unheard of). Typically random freezing/blue screens, windows hanging for long periods, the clicking noise of death, or files getting corrupted tend to be the more frequent signs of your hard drive's terminal illness.
