What is your intended use for this build?
General Pc usage (internet, word documents, mild-photoshop),
Entertainment (Blue Ray Movies, Streaming Movies and Live TV. I have 100+gb of music and a separate 1TB external for Movies)
Gaming (looking to replace an xbox one which i return, it was defective). Also possibly stream myself, record and edit my clips. Most likely will be doing at least two of these activities together (Ie. Streaming live tv and at the same time browsing the web or photoshopping)
I've had my macbook for 6years now which I paid $1600 and never had to do a single thing. It is now starting to get a little outdated and slow or me, or I've outgrown it, or both. I'm looking for a "future-proof" build which I can confidently use for the next 5+ years, without the need of any major upgrades/changes. I will periodically add more storage/ram as I feel needed. I do not need software, or a computer monitor.

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings) Nothing Specific. But if I am spending $2K, I hope to be playing at top settings. Preferable 60fps+ / 1080p.

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
$2000 Canadian (give or take $500)

This is what I have built so far:

My biggest concern being, is 3000GRAND worth the money to drop? Or would a $1350 pc from Bestbuy and a $300 Xbox One suit my needs?

That PC looks great and will handle anything you throw at it but I think an i5/GTX 970 would be equally fine for 1080P and mild photoshop.

That's what I'd go for personally, should do you fine at 1080P for 3-4 years or so then just overclock and drop a better GPU in and it will go for a few more years again.

I see your biggest concern is 3000 GRAND worth?
I dont think you really need spend that much to build a really strong and beautiful gaming rig.
See below a rig w/ a marvelous case: The rig will looks great after you install that good and quiet NZXT water cooler.
The X31 and the z170mpro4s will give you all you need to Bclk OC the i5-6500 for great performance.
The GTX980 is really strong for 1080p. 4GB VRAM is all you need for that resolution for any game in the near future.

This 2000 GRAND rig includes Win10 and Blu-Ray.
