CPU or GPU Overheated and shut down PC

Yesterday I installed a new CPU - FX8350 and I also installed a new H100i GTX. I used the pre-applied thermal paste. When the machine was running, according to CPUID on idle it was at around 15-25c. I played some Farcry 4 and it was around 30-40c.

Today I played Farcry 4 for ... 20 minutes and my PC suddenly powered down. I immediately removed the thermal paste that was on the cooler and reapplied new thermal paste.

My CPU is now running Farcry 4 (after 30 minutes) at 40-43c. GPU (R9 290x) is at 70-74c. Things seem fine but then again they also seemed fine earlier. Anything I should be worried about or consider looking into? Do the current temp readings seem okay?

Solution
"Check for latest BIOS and latest mobo drivers, if those are already updated, maybe reset the CMOS as it holds the data from the old CPU"

I reapplied the paste since I had just used the pre applied paste that came with the cooler. Played it for an hour or two tonight and it shut down again. I cannot turn it on currently. I had the cpu temp readings up on another screen and it read 43c. What else could be happening? Psu issue maybe? I'm running 700w currently which should be enough.

No error messages or anything in the bios that I can tell.

It is a AzzA - Alpha 700w. Thoughts?

The cables from the H100i are close to the motherboard -- could this cause any type of issue or interference?

Update: Today I ran Prime95 to further try and rule out CPU issues. Had a rounding error but I'll deal with that later -- beyond that it ran for about an hour with no problems and didn't pass 53c. Also, several days ago before I updated the current hardware I had a power down issue while playing a different game. I had never had that issue on my old hardware so it keeps me thinking the PSU is the problem here.
