Startup Repair Loading, blue screen

My laptop I downgraded to windows 7, because I wanted to. When i turn it on it goes to the screen to choose to boot windows normally or startup repair, but when I put to boot windows normally it goes to the startup repair and I've tried system restore, but that doesn't work. And sometimes when windows boot i get a blue screen which then loads to startup repair

We need to know more about your problem before we can help. A good run down on what kind of computer you have would be great, when you say you downgraded to Windows 7 what did you have previously? A description of what the BSOD said would be very helpful. Though I can't remember exactly, I think there is a way to reinstall Windows 7 on top of your existing installation without losing your files. Perhaps someone here on the forum can verify that.
