Why does it look so ugly (washed out and dark)

I have the mine craft demo on my PC, however it just looks so ugly (colors are sooo washed out) and because of it, I don't even wanna consider buying the full game. Why does it look so bad, I've looked everywhere and I cant find anything on it. Is it my GPU? I don't think so because I have a EVGA GTX 670 FTW, which is better than a PS4 and alot better than an Xbox 360 [which can run it]. My friend with worse specs than me runs it easy. I also I have an i7 4790 [locked] with 16 gigs of ddr3 Kingston HyperX Fury RAM, so CPU wise, I think I'm good. So what on Earth is the problem? Please help.

SOLVED: the demo is just really ugly

  1. Look up Minecraft.

The whole game is a bunch of blocks.
  2. Better check your video card belt..... it might be loose.
  3. I know what its supposed to look like
  4. because minecraft is a 10 year old game or so, and it looked like crap when it came out?

don't know what you're expecting. personally i'm stunned the game got as popular as it did.
  5. no, it just the color is so much darker from what I see on console and on videos, also, my card is fine, as I can run black ops 3 perfect so with serveral other games.
  6. plus, Ive had it on xbox 360 and xbox one since it came out so Im well aware of what its supposed to look like.

Maybe it's just your monitor? I mean, if it's an old LN panel, it's gonna look ugly with bad colors.

    Check your GPU drivers though.

Also, why the heck do you still play Minecraft? The hype for it died two years ago.

I'm pretty sure "hype" is not required to play a game, no matter it's age. There are people that still hold CounterStrike tournaments, with the ORIGINAL version of the game that came out 15 years ago. Age means nothing.

You have the honor to talk to one of those people who still prefer CS 1.6 over CS:GO and have been raised on Quake and CS 1.6. I know the age doesn't matter but Minecraft is dead by now. The only revival is mods.

I guess I don't understand the point you are trying to make. Just because you personally don't like Minecraft anymore doesn't make it "dead" for everyone else. The OP wants to play it, and in this thread, that's all that matters. Nothing wrong with that. There are tons of old games that few people play anymore, but that doesn't mean they are "dead" and it's no reason to question the players' motives for playing. This isn't high school where you have to do what everyone else is doing or else be labeled uncool.
