Hello Everyone,

I am a huge noob in computers when it comes to audio, i have recently purchased some 7.1 channel headphones and i was wondering if i get a dedicated sound card will i be able to hear a difference in audio quality? i currently have the Asus Rampage V with its onboard audio and i have heard that it should be fine but i just wanted a second opinion.

Solution
If I recall that rampage V has a better then average onboard audio solution. You will be fine. Gaming headphones tend to have low impedance so you won't need dedicated sound card. The only time they are really necessary is when you have generic realtek audio and you wanna drive high end headphones.

Ok so you think the Bose QuietComfort 25 headphones dont require a dedicated sound card to improve its current sound?
