gaming rig suggestion

i have a gtx 970 and intel i5 4690k in mind ,but the rest of the components excluding the peripherals daunt me,could anyone please suggest the remaining keeping in mind that my rig should be under 950$ ,thankx in advance

The 4690k does not give you that much more, not unless you are willing to overclock. The 6500 has everything, and more, you need to run games on ultra. Remember games are GPU intensive, that CPU without a touch can run the best games in the next several years without a problem. Also DDR4 is the future. If you want to have an even better CPU performance, then you have to go for 6600k + Z170 motherboard + external cooler. This would allow for overclocking and increase the power even further.

but wil that cpu be able to max out new gen games at ultra? i really love what the 4690k has to offer...is there no alternative..what if i put in an extra 50$ ?...

thankc ,but i wil overclock now will that change things ? or you would still go with the 6600k ?.
