When there is a power cut my ups gives back up but, when the power comes back my pc abruptly restarts. I have tried all kinds of software adjustments such as going to BIOS and trying different settings. turned of c6/c7 state. Everything. I have also tried with a different UPS but it still didn't work. I have nothing else connected to my UPS other than my CPU.

My config:
core i5 4460 3.2ghz
gigabyte z97 d3h motherboard
asus strix gtx 970
ram 2*4gb
PSU corsair vs650
UPS APC 1100VA
3 Hard disks. Western digital-2tb, 160gb
Samsung-320gb

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's what I suspect is going on; Your Corsair VS750 features Active PFC and depending on the design of the UPS(s) they may not work well with Active PFC PSU's. I would suggest contacting APC to inquire if your UPS is compatible with PSU's featuring Active PFC and, if not, what model they might suggest. If they say the UPS is compatible with PSU's featuring Active PFC, I would suspect a problem with the UPS unit itself.

Thanks for your reply. Greatly appreciated. I would like to bring to your notice that my PSU is Corsair vs650, not 750. And also, I have tried running my system with a microtek 1000VA UPS and also a zebronik 1000VA UPS without desired result. So, i don't think the UPS is at fault. However, I will call up APC regarding active PFC.

Yeah, it was a typo... but then I compounded it by trying to research it. I noticed when I was looking for reviews/design info - for the life of me I couldn't figure out why I couldn't find anything about a VS750 (they don't make one) then I forgot to change it to the VS650 (even though I had figured it by then)
The Zebronics UPS I'm almost positive will not support Active PFC

I have Corsair VS550, and my PC restarts when "POWER COMES BACK". I am using APC BackUPS 600 VA (360 W). And I solved this in a way, by some random trick (which, I'm not sure will always works). I have one old APC UPS, which is BackUPS ES 500 VA (300 W).
I connected OLD UPS to AC mains. And I connected, my NEW UPS to OLD UPS to get power from (Daisy-Chain connection maybe). And I powered my CPU and monitor to NEW UPS. After a power cut, when power comes back, my PC has not restarted.
(The reason I guess for this behaviour is, NEW UPS, takes sometime to read the stepped-sine wave output of OLD UPS when goes to on-battery mode (or vice versa) and continue to give its battery output to CPU, The time-delay helps PSU to get powered without break).

Give it a try, and reply.
