Hey everyone..

I have two monitors Asus PA248Q and some 16inch samsung monitor and 2 graphics cards.. Nvidia GTX 780 and GTX 550Ti..

How do i connect the monitors to each of the graphics card.. that is GTX 550Ti to Samsung monitor and GTX 780 to Asus Monitor...

i plugged in everything.. and installed the driver not for both separately cuz it gives me the same driver for both the cards..

but only the asus monitor and 780 is working.. when i checked device manager it shows

"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

for 550Ti..

what do i do?

Thanks ^_^

EDIT:

i forgot to mention it was working before but i was running windows 7 then.. now im running windows 10..

Edit 2:

well i tried running one card at a time with one monitor respectively.. and it works perfect then... but when i connect both it doesnt...

i noticed something else... after i tried running one card at a time... i connected both cards and both monitors.. and when i turned on... both monitors worked... i mean i could see the bios screen on the asus monitor and login screen on the samsung.. but as soon as it went into desktop only the asus screen works and in device manager it shows tat same error code 43..

should i go back to windows 7??

Why would you have two different cards in the same PC? You do know that does not work right? Only your 780 will be able to run, you need two cards of the same kind in or to run.

Well ya.. But i use it cuz i have tat old Graphics card laying around.. and it kinda helps me while gaming so i can work on the side while gaming and at the same time dont put much stress on the gaming GPU...

it was working perfectly fine on windows 7 just like i wanted... but when i changed to 10 it stopped working... windows is automatically stopping the 550ti display adapter...

I don't understand how you got that working, did you have both GPUs running their own displays in win7 too?

ya i did.. 550Ti was powering the samsung monitor using VGA cable.. and 780 was powering the asus one using Display port.. and it worked flawlessly... but now the samsung is not getting detected at all... only in device manager it shows the 550Ti with a warning...

Ah, now i understand, sorry for being so ignorant, seems to me that you are having driver problems, can you revert to an older driver, one that you have during your win7 time?

Nah its ok.. well the thing is i completely forgot wat driver i was using.. cuz i had problem with my processor.. so i sent it for RMA and got it only few days back... so i dont remember which driver i used... should i try installing windows 7 drivers instead of windows 10?

Edit: Oops sorry forgot to quote..

Windows 10 shouldn't be the issue. the newer drivers may be, you can try and rollback your nvidia driver trough the control panel, or you can update the 550ti through the control panel as well, give these two a try and let me know

well i tried a few things...

1. Tried to update the driver but it said drivers r up to date...
2. tried roll back did nothing asked me to restart and it was back to the way it was before..
3. i finally figured the old driver which i was running on 7.. downloaded it and installed it but still same.... for win 10 thou the driver i mean,....
4. removed my 780... removed the driver with ddu and installed again with one monitor and 550Ti.... then shutdown and connected my 780 and turned back on and to my surprise both got detected.. but sadly... 550Ti was running on Nvidia driver and was working fine... but 780 was not recognised as 780 instead a default microsoft something.. well it ran without a driver.. but it worked perfectly fine.. except the samsung monitor looked nice like normal mode.. but asus looked like safe mode... so i installed the driver for 780.. and back to square 1.. 550Ti was stopped by windows.. T_T

so any ideas wat do i do?? T_T

Well umm i had a spare HDD.. so i installd win 7 to that.. and installed just the chipset driver and IME driver then i installed the Nvidia driver..after a restart everything was working perfectly.. both my monitors got detected and i could extend displays...

so so is it win 10??

sorry for double post i want to state something someone said in microsoft forum...

http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3707/

exactly my problem..

so if this is the problem is there a workaround for this or there is no workaround and i have to go back to Win 7??

Hmm, i had no idea win 10 didn't support that already, well, after doing a bit of research i did find that the required drivers will be coming soon but no idea how long, so you can either keep win 10 or switch back to win 7 with dual screen, no other option really.
