Two $1100 builds, which one is better for gaming and overall use?

My goal is a pc with some available upgrades in the future,
budget around $1000,
for gaming and home use,
quiet and cool running,
Any suggestions are welcome.

also thinking of getting this desk

And any advice on an ergonomic chair (average build/height, back problems)

Thank you

You could do this and save some money by only getting 8gb of ddr4. It's all you need, unless you're doing video editing or something.

EDIT:

I made a PCPartPicker list for you with a i5 6600K, Z170 and 8GB DDR4 RAM. Your original graphics card wasn't going to fit into your case (presuming you left the drive cages in), so I went for a EVGA GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+ 4GB, which will fit in the same case and has a higher core clock than your original card. You also save $45.
Note: I didn't choose Kingston RAM as it has no XMP.
The list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/BMtVjX

If you want a fully modular PSU: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/CngDt6

I originally went with the Hyper 212 EVO because of its great reviews, and price.
I was thinking that Fractal Design Define R5 case paired with the (Hyper 212 EVO) + one more fan would be enough for this rig. If its not enough I would get the (NZXT Kraken X61), or the (Swiftech H220-X). They are just so pricey compared to the $30 on the (Hyper 212 EVO).
I'm new to over clocking so I don't really know, just how hot this could run.
Are there other cooling adjustments that recommended?
In the summer it does get to 110-120 degrees where I live, so cooling is important.

You could definitely do some low-medium overclocking on this CPU with the Hyper 212 EVO. This is a graph showing the temperatures of a i5 6600K during a 30 minute stress test at stock settings. The CPU was generally in the low 50's at its hottest temps during the test, which is great considering that a stress test isn't a realistic representation of real-life CPU loads. Thus you should be fine with the 212 EVO unless you're doing some hardcore overclocking.
