Ive been using the white siberia headset (jack not usb) for like 4 years in many different computers.
It stopped working a while ago and i was life "Fuck it ill just use the spare one"
But after using 3 spare ones i figured it had to be something about the computer.
I think i tried to do the basics to fix this problem.

Summing up:
- every microphone (jack not usb) i used in my laptop stopped working in every computer
-When im using the mic the laptop recognizes it
-when i press "listen to this device" i only hear static
-the green bar in the "recording devices" only goes up and down when i move the mic (which is a flexible "stick" i pull from the headset
-windows says the drivers are the most recent

Thank u for reading hope you know what to do

You can try updating your drivers using Slimdrivers, but it sounds more like a hardware issue. The problem may lie with the the sound board itself. Gets hot after awhile and quits working. Try the USB adapter, it's cheap and easy.
It may be simply the jack has gone bad after years of use. You might try reinstalling your audio driver and making sure the device is enabled. If you right click on the speaker icon, you can run the troubleshooter. If the jack has failed, you might be able to replaced the sound card which has the jack on it, it's not too difficult and the cards are usually pretty cheap on Ebay, or you can use a USB audio adapter.

Troubleshooted like u said nothing happened but then i went to the drivers details of the device and it says:
"No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device"

installed the Slimdrivers i did some updates.
I now have something called stereo mix but the laptop's mic stopped working
The headset microphone now doesnt produce static sound, you dont hear nothing at all.
But, while i was frustrated about the mic, i start pulling out and in the microphone (the "stick") and i managed to find a position where he works perfectly.
Im afraid it wont work if i move it so ill just leave it as it is

Well now, after uninstalling SlimDrivers, the monitor i use instead of the laptop's (btw my laptop's screen is all pink and green) has no vga signal and instead of showing "multiple displays" it says "display device on: VGA"
I think i accidentaly uninstalled Intel Graphics HD 400 or something like that when i was uninstalling an update that slimdriver did
Great, mic fixed but not monitor xD
