Best graphics card with the AMD FX 9590?

I currently have an AMD FX 9590 in my mid range gaming PC. I was wondering what my next GPU upgrade should be? I currently have an GTX 750 TI, and the next component I will be purchasing is a new GPU.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know down below. Thank you. :)

max would be a gtx 970 if you have a 500w or better power supply

What is important here is what 750W PSU do you have, the rating alone doesn't says anything.

I love my MSI Gaming R9 390. 8 GB VRAM vs 4 GB on GTX970 and it costs less. The Gigabyte R9390 also nice and costs less. It is more future proof than the 970 due to the extra VRAM IMO. Even more so if you consider that the GTX970 is really 3.5 gb, with .5 on the side. That said, both are very nice and more than sufficient to game on max setting. The 4GB 380X looks like the best bet for next price tier.
