i have a msi z97 gaming 3 mother board but i can't get the bios on the screen

nothing on the screen. don't know if you have to connect to monitor with certain video socket

Whatever connection you used at the back of the pc, you have to change input at the monitor. So if you used a hdmi at the motherboard / gpu then change monitor input to hdmi. There will be a button on the monitor for that

i have done that but there is nothing on the screen and the monitor says no connection i have tried all the video outputs on the motherboard do you know why there is nothing on the monitor the light on the motherboard and gpu is on as well

Are you connecting the monitor to the motherboard or the gpu? If you have a Dedicated gpu, you do not use the motherboard connections at all
