Bump your ram down to 8 gb and spend the extra 50 on a ssd boot drive or a better psu. You don't want to skimp on a psu, and I doubt that you will use all of that ram.

I agree with your take on the PSU, however, I would like to respectfully disagree with your evaluation of the motherboard. I had the h97 version of the G43 and it was a very good and solid motherboard for the price.

I don't see a reason to not go intel at this price point.

The i3-6100 offers a great upgrade path, and performance. Especially if you decide to add a cooler later and overclock. Plus this gives you a much more reliable and cooler asus r9 380.
