I am trying to revive an old computer that has been sitting around for the past few years. It is an old Compaq Presario SR1134NX with an Intel Pentium 4 505 @2.66Ghz. The motherboard model name is specified in the title and the model number is 5188-1036. I searched online to see if I can find any solutions to it but it says the board can support up to a 3.4 Ghz processor and Pentium 4 HT which is still single core. I am wondering if there is any possibility to have something like a dual core processor since the socket is a LGA 775.

). I'd put money on the Pentium 4 HT 650 sSpec SL8Q5 being the best proc you can put in your system. That's the one I'm running in ye olde Dell and it makes the system a tad zippier than the Pentium 4 HT 521 it came with, and the sucktastic graphics appreciate the extra horsepower. You can pick up SL8Q5's on eBay for ~$7, so go for it.
