Hi there,
I have a fairly new Asus Strix 6gb GTX 980 ti video card that seems to be reporting the wrong memory. I'm not sure if this is a windows issue or an issue with my card.

It list the
Total available graphics memory: 5840 MB
Dedicated Video Memory: 2048 MB
System Video Memory: 0 MB
Shared System Memory: 3792 MB

I'm running windows 7 Ultimate
i7-2600k
24 GB system memory
Most up to date nvidia driver 361.43

Thanks so much.

Hey,

I will run firestrike ultra when I get home and see how much vram it uses, forgot to do it when before I went out. But yours is already using more than the 2gb Windows detects.
If you are on Windows 7, it has been an issue seen a few times with people having issues with graphics cards that hold over 4gb vram.

Hey,

Something definitely isn't right there, are you experiencing any issues in games or benchmarks with your card? Get GPUz and see how much vRAM is says you are using, A benchmark like 3DMARK firestrike would be good for this, or any game that is vRAM heavy.

My 980 Ti reads this:

Total available graphics memory: 14306 MB
Dedicated Video Memory: 6144 MB
System Video Memory: 0 MB
Shared System Memory: 8162 MB

Thanks for the reply! It's nice to know what someone with the same card reads. I ran firestrike ultra with GPUz and my memory usage topped at 2916 MB. I haven't noticed much in games I've been playing but this card was a pretty big upgrade from what I was using that I'm not sure I would notice if it wasn't working at peak.
