A few months ago my brother passed away and he gave me his pc. Cody=Brother was the computer wiz of the family and i don't know all that much about them.... Okay it's a bunch of jibberish to me! haha. Anywho I was thinking of doing some lite gaming but i dont want to by a game that i cant run. it would be just a waste of money. And before anyone here asked if i've gone to the "Can I run it" website, yes i have but it keeps saying hardware not recognized or something similar. Anyway here is the jibberish i was talking about;-)

Very sorry for your loss.

This is a very powerful workstation computer, with high quality dual gaming graphics cards in it. With a PC like this, it isn't even a question of what it can run......it will run anything. Period.

What it was actually truly built for I can only guess, but it is certainly the type of machine someone would build if they were doing professional video editing or graphics work....but also liked gaming. It could easily work with a 4k monitor, which is sort-of the holy grail of PC gaming right now. You have a great machine for years to come.

haswell xeon e5s are expensive. you have a dual cpu rig. this computer is not really designed for gaming, its for professional level hard core app and number crunching. that said, it wouldn't be bad for gaming. its worth much more than $1000 though.

the relatively slow core speed of those xeons makes it not the best for gaming, but definitely good enough. it has two r9-390s(or 390x) and that is a pretty powerful gpu setup, stronger than any single gpu released yet.

all said and done it should be able to pretty much max out any known game at 1440p without issues. on the cpu end its about 20x the raw performance of a ps4 and on the gpu end its about 8x the raw performance.

@nikoli707 I know he used to work from home on it. Whenever I asked him about what he did for a living he would
just say he was a programmer. Like I would know what that was.. haha I do know he made really good money doing it though. how much do you think this pc is worth? I don't think i'll sell it but still. it good to know.

dual e5-2630v3 cpus, 64gb ddr4, crossfire r9-390(or 390x), 500gb ssd i assume and two roughly 4gb mechanical drives. i have no idea what motherboard since your list doesn't say, but its expensive. probably costs $4000+ to build new at the time, i would guess its worth $2000 at least to someone who needs that kind of computing power.

Mechanics and carpenters spend thousands or tens of thousands on the tools of their trade, and being a programmer....this was just the tools of his trade.
