So I am planning to assemble a rig with a budget of £800 (roughly around $1100). Maybe an additional $100 if it's absolutely necessary!

I do have a LG 1080p monitor which I will be using with the rig at the moment. So the rig is intended for 1080p gaming with 60fps+.

I am using an Asus G550 with a core i7 4th generation and a GTX 850m 2GB GDDR3 at the moment. I get decent frame rates at 1080p with medium settings in most games (Witcher 3, GTA 5, etc). So I am hoping to build something that will blow it out of the water!

I haven't decided on which chassis to get yet but have made an early list of all other components.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

with your standard 120mm air cooler there really isn't any advantages of the 6600 or 6600k over the 6500 since they will all overclock relatively close to each other. the 6400 has too low of a base multiplier for a good overclock though. but i currently see the 6600 cheaper than the 6500 anyways so there isn't much sense dropping down.

your case choice is purely yours. i would watch a youtube video review from a good source on cases that you like to get an idea of the build pros and cons of each.
spend a little bit more and you have a killer red/black theme build. though if you dont care about color matching then you can swap a few things around and get it really close to £800

The S340 looks super sleek! What do you think about the BitFenix Aegis?
Also, would there be a major difference if I went for a 6400 or a 6500 instead of the i5 6600?

Here's a similarly priced 6600K build with an R9 390, Went for a Black/White aesthetic.
