I am currently wanting to wipe my laptop and reinstall it with my Windows 7 Professional 64 bit disc and wanted to know if it was possible. I do not want anything on the laptop and am planning to wipe the hard drive with my Windows 7 disc's formatting tool. I researched online beforehand and saw that possible problems with the activation key or hardware could occur.

My Windows 7 Professional disc comes with a key, and my laptop also has a Windows activation key. Which key would I use when installing with the disc, if it's possible at all?

I know that in order to use a 64 bit OS, my CPU must be 64 bit capable, which it is.

Thank you!

Format it. Install the new version. Put the key that came with the cd you are installing. Be happy.

What you can't do is update a 32 bit version to 64 bit. Or vice versa. If you format the pc, you can install whatever you want ( even android :D)
