So... I like 1920x1080 and I just want a gpu that can give me 60+ fps on 99% of games, my budget is around 1k for the card , would I need to do a dual set-up or just get 1 card?

Solution
The 295x2 is two older 290x's on a single board. It therefor has all the downfalls of a crossfire setup including not all games support it. It also runs hot and is heavy on the wattage. It's also performs like a 4gb vram card. I'd much rather a 980Ti which will perform well in all games with 6gb vram

kwa-e

Admirable
I agree with sizzling.

If you go with the 295X2 you'll likely just be dissapointed due to the limitations of the CFX drivers, CFX incompatibility with some games and the horrendous amount of heat it outputs,

Go with either the 980ti or the R9 Fury instead, You won't regret it a bit.

I heard the fury is better for 4k but worse for 1080p, which is all i really care about, so would the 980ti be the best card i can get for gaming?

There are many reviews, this one has some good comparisons.

If it was my choice Id opt for the 980Ti but I do believe NVIDIA release drivers for new games quicker and that adds value to me.

went with EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB HYBRID Video Card
since I also care about how cool/quiet it is, and I figure it'll be able to handle most games for a few years on high settings at 1080p60
