Can i overclock a 4690k on h97 or b85 msi motherboard?

hello, ive read in a few different places that you can overclock on a h97 or b85 chipset motherboard due to a bios update that was released.

but on other sites it says that its not possible, can someone please clarify this for me...

is it possible to overclock a 4690k on either a h97 or b85 chipset msi motherboard?

The B85/ H97 chipset is not made for OCing the CPU (doesn't work with the CPU multiplier), can get a bit of an OC by raising the BCLK.
Still i would advice you against it - anything you do to them will hamper and expose your PC to risk.

If you are getting confused by the manuals or the OC genie present, DONT.
