Looking for a good Gaming Computer?

I am looking for a good pre-built gaming computer (laptops work too, but I heard they are more expensive than a pc of the same abilities) that can run modern games on at least decent settings. My budget stands around $1500, $2000 at the absolute maximum (if it's that expensive, it should be a lot better than a computer for $1500). Is there any good brands in particular? If you can, please state why you think it is good instead of just saying it's a good brand/computer. I know all brands have their pros and cons so I won't believe you if you just say it's perfect.
Thanks!

Yeah, I don't really want to. I don't have experience with building computers so it's probably not a good idea. I could get my friend to help (hes built them in the past) but it would probably be a hassle on him.

I would advise against buying prebuilt, they like to charge quite a bit. Here are some examples.
Prebuilt 1: https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=1025706
Equivalent 1: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QdjjmG

Prebuilt 2: http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Gamer_Infinity_8000 ( actual price is $1932 with correct PSU )
Equivalent 2: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/CBfMjX

These are just some parts put together as standard by the companies, if you did want to buy either prebuild or build yourself I would change some of them pretty significantly.

I know it's a bad idea, but I really don't know if i would be able to build one. Are there any companies that don't mark up the prices much (or are at least good for their cost)?
