Hey guys! :)

I'm helping my friend build his first pc.

But i need some help choosing the Power Supply and the Motherboard.
Als will the GPU and CPU work well together or will they be bottlenecked?
(Other help is also welcome)

These are the components we've got so far.

Processor : Intel Core i5-6400
RAM : Corsair Vengeance 8GB
GPU : MSI GeForce GTX 960 4G
HHD : WD black SATA 1TB

He already has a case and his budget is about €700 (£527 or $765) in total.

Thanks for the help!

That CPU won't bottleneck the GPU.

For motherboard I always suggest Asus unless you know you want something else. They just plain work. Go to their website and browse and browse by Intel motherboards and choose socket 1151. Choose Z170 and H170 and choose a board based on what features you want.

The higher end boards will have better software for overclocking and such, software for tuning the better Intel Network Card, better sound, headphone amplifier, etc... Features like that. Choose what you want and for your budget.

For the power supply it's known that EVGA is the king right now. About 650W would be plenty for you. If you ever think you'll add a second video card you might want to crank that to 750 or even 850W...

There are bronze, gold, platinum, and titanium rated power supplies. In a nutshell that refers to the efficiency, power factor and usually quality of a power supply. But many GOLD power supplies and just as good as the titanium and it's not worth the cost of the upgrade and sticker that states titanium certified.

Head on over to www.jonnyguru.com and choose reviews, power supplies, all reviews. He dissects them all and gives his opinion. Lets say your buying from Newegg, go through the EVGAs and see what they have in stock for 650W then check the reviews over at Jonny Guru and make a decision.

This should get you started in the right direction.
